Is Google Gemini Considered a Good AI Platform

By james

There is no doubt that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made our lives so much easier. For instance, if you want to send an email to a client, you can head to an AI platform and type in a prompt with your intent, and the AI platform will craft an email for you!

There are plenty of AI services that you can choose from, which include ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, Microsoft’s Copilot, Claude AI, and so on. However, today, we will be keeping our focus on Google Gemini to see whether it is a good AI platform or not.  Let’s get into it.

What is Gemini?

Gemini started off as an AI model called “Bard,” which wasn’t exactly up to everyone’s expectations.

Bard has recently turned into Gemini with a lot of improvements. It is developed by Google, which understands and processes data like text, images, audio, video, and code.

Just like any other AI tool, Gemini requires an active internet connection, creating the need for a reliable internet service. With a dependable service like Spectrum Internet, you can ensure uninterrupted access to the tool’s features to use it for your projects and tasks. Contact Spectrum Customer Service to get your hands on a suitable plan.

Who is Gemini Meant for?

We agree that the AI platform now has an improved performance. The question is, who is Gemini intended for? The shortest and most precise answer to this is Everyone. All you need is a good knowledge of prompts, and you are good to go.

You have to clearly explain to the platform what you are expecting from it. This is commonly known as “prompt engineering,” and it requires extensive research to get better at it. Plus, the base variant of Gemini is free, which means that you can use it for all the practice that you want.

Can Gemini Help You with Your Business?

Gemini is actually pretty useful when it comes to running a business, especially when creating marketing strategies. You can prompt Gemini to create a full-fledged marketing strategy;  you will have to explain what your business is about and what you expect from the marketing strategy.

Gemini can create marketing campaigns for you based on what your customers prefer, you can then implement that strategy to attract more customers to your business. Similarly, you can also use Gemini to keep you on track by logging your appointments and setting reminders.

Gemini and Brainstorming Ideas

Not only can Gemini help you strictly in marketing, but it can help you in other fields of your business as well. For instance, if you ever find yourself in a slump and can’t think of ideas to boost your business, then Gemini definitely has your back.

It is an excellent tool for marketing content creation. If you have a website that features written content, then you can head to Gemini for ideas and inspiration. You can use the ideas that Gemini gives you in your content, and you’ll see the difference in no time!

Gemini and AI-Generated Images

I once tried putting two AI platforms to the test, Google Gemini and ChatGPT Plus, since both of them are in a head-to-head competition. I’ll have to say that Gemini let me down there.

ChatGPT Plus uses DALL-E 3 to generate images, and they are a sight for sore eyes. There is always attention to detail, and there are barely any horrifying deformities in the images. However, the results from Gemini were a bit of a shocker to me.

Gemini still has a couple of issues that it has to address when it comes to generating images. For instance, there would be deformed hands with extra fingers or extra limbs that would just straight-up creep you out. If Google addresses this issue, Gemini can go a long way.

Handling Complex Tasks

There are some tasks that would even put an AI platform in a puzzle, such as translating a sentence that is from a severely outdated language. I also put Gemini through the same puzzle and I’ll say it was a letdown here too.

For instance, Google doesn’t recognize Filipino in its current language model, rendering it useless to translate sentences that are in Filipino. What Gemini does is that it straight up declines to translate the sentence, due to its inability to do so. This is also another thing Google has to pay attention to. Currently, Gemini only supports 40 languages, which just isn’t enough.

The Final Verdict

Google Gemini is a pretty promising AI service; however, there are still a couple of things that it needs to pay attention to. For instance, it needs to focus on the images that it generates so that there aren’t any horrifying deformities. Similarly, it also needs to work on its translation model to cater to more languages.
